Four Posts and a Photo.

How are you all today? I had the day off, and spent it wasting time and listening to the radio. In the afternoon I went and had a late lunch with a friend at a vegetarian cafe that has the most delicious food and beverages. Not a bad day all in all, and it didn't rain while I was riding back home! Unlike yesterday, when I got soaked and cold winds made for much teeth gritting. 

A simple sentiment... quite lovely.

'The Piper's Son'

Melina Marchetta's latest book 'The Piper's Son' has come out recently. YAY! I have been waiting for this book for a while. The book follows the lives of the same characters who were in 'Saving Francesca' five years later. It seems that it is now Tomas Mackee who needs saving. While 'Looking for Alibrandi' remains my favorite book of hers. I am looking forward to re-meeting all of the characters who where in 'Saving Francesca', and finding out how things have turned out. Mostly I am looking forward to reading a good book though!

Bedroom Makeover!

I am painting my bedroom at the moment, after recently ripping up the dreaded carpet to reveal beautiful floorboards. My plan is for a white room with the window frames painted a dark brown, inspired by Vietnam, and all those books on old Japanese houses that I devour. Lastly I plan to buy some plain white curtains from Freedom, very simple. Here are a few pictures.

Blue Dresses

I went shopping the other day and bought two beautiful dresses. I have been looking for a maxi dress like the one I got for a while now (there are so many ugly ones)! It is a cross between these two pictures. 

It is like the top photo, with the shape and fall of the dress, but it has a V shape neck and no ruffle (both at the neck and at the bottom of the dress), like in the second photo. 

The other dress that I bought was satiny (very shiny!) and a rich blue, quite like the dress in the photo below, but a fair bit shorter. It's not normally my kind of thing, but it is just such fun! Sometimes it is good to wear something out there! Last night I went out to celebrate the birthday of one of my friends at a great Malaysian/Chinese restaurant. I wore it with pearls, very high heels and a silk scarf that were amazingly all the same colour (a nice cream). Wasn't even on purpose.

Maybe it's because we are about to enter into Autumn, but I have been thinking about jackets. Here are a few I found on the internet that are the closest to what I have been looking out for.
